For the local marathon and triathlon squads I coach, I often use this nifty mapping tool to chart the routes and to measure each of the routes distance:

Another option for mapping is MapMyTri.com or MapMyRun.com , however, they have limited functionality unless you become a paying member. For my purposes, gmap-pedometer does everything I need it to do.
I just received a link on facebook to the social running map application, thanks to Jen. I have not tried it yet, but, I may start using it soon. The advantage being, that all my facebook pals can get access to the routes should they please.
