WHO We coach Triathletes. All types, including beginners, veterans, competitive, non-competitive and people with busy schedules. Coaching can be provided for sprint, olympic, 70.3, half ironman, ITU long course and ironman races. HOW The first step is to contact us and tell us which service you are interested in or to discuss which service would best suit your needs. Soon thereafter, Scott will be in touch with you and will give you a background questionairre to fill out. With your background information in hand, we use our knowledge of training to set up a custom program to meet your goals and fits in your schedule. Throughout your training we also cover the 9 essential topics to race at your best. WHY 1. Save time - Your coach has spent years of reading and studying all the different aspects of training and racing so you do not have to. The coach is your one-stop information center and if he/she does not know the answer they can quickly find out. 2. Get more for your money - A coach will not only save you time but is better apt at planning a program that will take you to the next level and then the next level after that. The #1 way to improve is to increase your fitness (or the size of your engine). Nice equipment helps but you get more for your money from good coaching. 3. Motivation and Support - It is a big advantage to have a coach that will motivate you when you do not feel like getting out the door. They can also provide an objective point of view when you get tired or need some external support. There are many more reasons to hire a coach so if you have any questions please do not hesistate to contact us. |

"Working with Scott this year has brought my fitness to a level I have alwayas wanted, but could never achive on my own. His mentoring and coaching raised my confidence level, improved my results and has made the triathon experience more rewarding. Now that I have a plan going into every race I am able to relax and enjoy the experience. Investing in Scott has imporved my racing more than any peice of eqipment. So hold off on buying those race wheels and utilize Scott for a year!" Bill, Portland, USA. "Once again, thanks for your considerate programs that have been fit around our lifestyles. Clever training by our coaches is what I tell everyone when they ask me how I got this far so quick. Also, thanks for always being so positive and encouraging!" Cathy, Busselton, Australia. "I am a challenged athlete due to an unfortunate side effect from a surgical procedure which left me partially paralyzed. Scott adapted my program to my injury and little training bumps along the way which helped me complete my first Ironman. I am looking forward to Scott helping me again." Darren, Vancouver, USA. "Truthfully, there is no way I would have made it through the day without your coaching and support. I drew on many of the things that you taught me over the last 6 months, mostly to stay positive and to work through the down times. Those 2 things got me through the day. Thanks is not enough, you made this experience the best possible for me." Ron, Portland, USA. "I don't know if I have mentioned it before now, but your help to this point has been invaluable. Thank you. I know this will be my best, most productive season yet." Ryan, Portland, USA |

The 9 Factors of Performance are:
-1- Base Fitness -2- Sport Specific Endurance -3- Technique -4- Tactics -5- Psychology -6- Support -7- Health -8- Injury Prevention -9- Knowledge
Factor 9 is knowledge and that is how we got our name. We feel our role as coaches is to obtain the knowledge, use it in our planning and pass it on to our athletes. It is the most important factor of performance since extensive training and racing knowledge are essential for success.
The knowledge that we share with each athlete are organized into the following 9 categories. This is not a coincidence because these categories do address all the factors of performance above. We simply reoganize the information in a sensible and logical format so that you can learn quickly as possible and see the relevance to your own training and racing.
